Nikoderiko: The Magical World | New Update (January 10, 2025)

A new update for Nikoderiko: The Magical World is now available! This update introduces gameplay improvements, visual enhancements, and bug fixes across multiple platforms, including Steam, Epic Games, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Let’s dive into the details to explore what’s improved and what’s been fixed!

General Changes

Gameplay Changes

  • Fixed an issue where the second co-op player could remain stuck in a bubble after mount interactions in 3D.
  • Resolved issues preventing dodging the wave attack during the Toby the Dragon fight if the level was restarted.
  • Fixed Niko’s sliding behavior after jumping on jump pads.
  • Fixed the ability to exit the playable area in Under Pressure and Flicker Factory by dismounting.
  • Fixed co-op logic issues when activating bonus levels.
  • Fixed character movement issues when mounting and during mount summons.
  • Fixed issues where players could activate co-op in bonus levels incorrectly.
  • Fixed several issues related to respawning, especially the second co-op player respawning without a Jetpack (Dragon Chase) or in unexpected states.
  • Fixed various interaction bugs in boss fights, including problems with picking up bombs or dynamite.

Visual Improvements

  • Fixed incorrect status display for levels on the global map and other visual inconsistencies such as incorrect shading, character clipping, and graphical glitches in co-op.
  • Fixed character shadows, graphical overlaps between player models and textures, and model distortions when interacting with enemies.
  • Fixed floating objects, disappearing environmental objects, and animations during boss fights and level transitions.

Audio Improvements

  • Fixed missing or out-of-sync sound effects related to various game actions, such as wheel mechanics, firefly disappearance, dragon animations, and barrel impacts.

User Interface (UI) Changes

  • Fixed UI issues where collected letters were not marked correctly after death, and several other UI bugs related to the shop, pause button, and map screen behavior.

Camera Improvements

  • Fixed several co-op camera issues such as abrupt movement, incorrect positioning when transitioning between 3D and 2D, and camera jitter when players respawn or die off-screen.

Level and Environmental Improvements

  • Fixed terrain-related issues that caused players to fall through platforms, experience incorrect dust animations with geysers, and other environmental inconsistencies.

Platform-Specific Changes

Steam and Epic Games:

  • Gameplay Improvements:
    • Fixed a bug causing some movement input to be ignored when transitioning from certain levels in 3D free-roam zones.
    • Resolved a rare issue where co-op players would fail to spawn in certain bonus levels after transitioning from the previous zone.
  • Visual Fixes:
    • Fixed an issue where character shadows appeared too dim or low-quality in specific outdoor areas on Steam.
  • Audio Updates:
    • Fixed missing sound effects for certain in-game items, such as specific collectibles or power-ups.

PS4:
