THE CHALLENGE OF HUNTERS RETURNS

The mechanics have been updated, the primary goal being the preservation of the thrill and the competitive spirit while freeing the players from the need to spend hours and hours in the game.
 
The detailed breakdown:
Convenient schedule
We've transitioned the event to a more comfortable itinerary: 48 hours of heated battles will be followed by 24 hours of respite. This day off will be required for the players to exhale, take stock of your positions, amend the decks and prepare for the next mad rush without hassle.
 
Every target matters now
Hunting those special targets will be a more lucrative affair now: you will receive 3 victory points at once for eliminating a target of this kind! The rest of the boss-kind will keep topping up your account, slowly but steadily: you will receive 1 point for each kill.
 
No more "night watch"
Your final result will be formed by the first few PvP battles of each day. Note that you will be able to choose which mode to use for your hunt, be it the classic PvP, the Shard Hunting or the Supremacy Tournament. Please take heed of an important clause: each day, you will be able to lay only a certain number of battles wherein the slaying of bosses will be giving you points. If your quota is fulfilled, you may relax and turn your attention to activities of different kinds.
 
The more the merrier
We are significantly increasing the capacity of the competitive groups. Why? To finally solve the old issue of "untouchable top players". In larger lobbies, the chances for tight and fair competition are much higher. We want to minimize the situations where one or two players promptly launch themselves into the stratosphere with their huge amounts of points, killing the suspense for everyone else on the leaderboard.
 
Make it rain coins
And what’s a tournament without worthy rewards? We are reworking the event's economy to make sure your efforts truly pay off. Let’s start with what stays the same: the exclusive emoji for the 1st place isn't going anywhere, and the top 3 players with an active Premium will still claim their special chest.
But here is where the changes start. First off, we are expanding the number of prize places rewarded with Experiment Coins: now, players ranking from 1st all the way to 20th place will receive this boon, instead of just the top 12. Second, the top 10 players can look forward to special Caskets, offering a pretty solid chance to receive Bonus Orbs!
 
 

NEW TALENTS: THE CORSAIR

The Corsair is returning from a voyage to distant lands! And he’s not coming back empty-handed – beside the holds overflowing with treasure, he’s bringing an entire arsenal of talents with him.
 
The Level 9 talents define your combat style: designate two Corsairs as Admirals to unleash devastating barrages against the first target, or deploy Gunpowder Kegs to control the battlefield with powerful area-hitting explosions.
 
At Level 11 the Corsair gains a new set of pirate tricks: choose between increasing a random Corsair’s rank using stored Gunpowder, or a secret elixir that removes all negative effects from a Corsair.
 
The Level 13 talents will help refine your battlefield tactics: deal increased damage to enemies with high health pools or gain a massive attack speed bonus for high-rank Corsairs.
 
The Level 15 talent packs truly EXPLOSIVE potential! It allows you to boost your bombs’ power to incredible levels and trigger a Mega Blast with an increased radius and guaranteed critical damage.
 
But that’s not all there is! Meet the Reincarnations:
Liquid Fire (Harlequin): explosions leave behind burning puddles that deal periodic damage to enemies.
Hidden Stash (Trapper): unleash full firepower with extra Gunpowder charges and saltpeter hidden in the hold.
Scorched Deck (Sea Dog): burning puddles become even more powerful – monsters won’t stand a chance against the brave captain and his crew!
 

DUELS

Do you believe your deck invincible, and your tactical skill flawless? Now is the time to test it in practice! Meet the Duels: the brand new format of battles intended for experienced players that have reached 1500 Legendary or 6000 trophies. This is the type of combat where your knowledge and skill are the primary factors that bring victory (or defeat).
 
How the Duels work:
  • Matchmaking: From now on, when launching a regular PvP battle, the system will start looking not just for a random player with similar ranking, but the one most directly comparable in power, and better yet, one who is in the lobby at the moment. The player does not have to do anything to make a duel challenge: it will all be happening automatically
  • Throwing down the gauntlet: The potential opponent thus found will receive a dedicated pop-up invitation to the Duel. If he or she does not shy from the challenge, and taps Accept, the battle will begin right away!
    *When a player is offered a duel, there will be an icon of two crossed axes in the "Battle" tab
  • Take note that several players will receive an invitation at once. Whoever is the first to respond will be taken into the battle!
Battles against evenly matched opponents are a matter of honor, but we haven’t forgotten about the worthy rewards, either:
  • Seasonal quest: In the list of seasonal quests, a special new article has appeared: taking part in Duels. Complete it and earn hard currency, the Legend Medals. These can be spent in the Legend store to purchase useful items
  • Unique status: Play the duels, don’t miss challenge calls − and claim the special Duellist badge. Let the entire Isle know who you really are!
    *The condition is taking part in 50 duels, regardless of the outcome
Get your best decks prepped – a challenge might come a-knocking at any moment!
 

OTHER CHANGES

Interfaces
Spells and artifacts will now be displayed on the Battle tab and when sharing decks, and you can copy other people's builds right along with them. Empty slots can be easily customized with a quick tap. We've also safeguarded your resources – a confirmation window will now appear when spending crystals on leveling up skills.
 
Speaking of battles: you will be able to read the description of your spells right during the match with a long press. And on the post-match stats screen, damage numbers will be displayed clearly and sequentially.
 
Clan Wars
Now the results of the past war will be right at your fingertips: with the tap of a single button, you will see the contribution of every current member. It will immediately become clear who carried the clan to victory, who sat out with zero points, and who just joined the ranks. In addition, we've added a bunch of pleasant quality-of-life improvements: quick battle launch with deck selection directly from the event window, convenient navigation to the chest on the map, and a clear progress bar. Furthermore, we are adding a new multi-part quest – exchanging skill fragments. The reward will be Clan Coins.
 
The process of switching between clans has also been altered: after leaving a clan, you will only be able to join a new one after 24 hours. This will reduce the number of players constantly skipping between clans, and leaving one will become a decision that is not taken (as) lightly. Please note however that the restriction will only be applied to players who leave a clan out of their own volition, as opposed to being kicked out.
 
We’ve also added a few nice little things:
  • display of progress for clans that haven’t reached the balloons yet
  • display of exchange currency in the Clan Store, as well as available collection pieces during exchanges
  • spells for the Dragon Rift are now shown only in the event’s interface, since they’re no longer tied to clan activities.
 
Dragon rift
Now, after defeating the final dragon, you will be able to reload the last floor, rolling the progress back to what it was at the floor’s start, hiding all tiles and reviving the dragon. All of the floor’s artifacts already revealed will disappear.
 
All the rewards (except badges) will be up for the grabs each time you complete the floor again.
 
Bonus orbs in summonings
  • When a certain Legendarity value is reached, the ability to receive bonus orbs for the selected unit will appear in the summoning interface.
  • This means those who already have the unit’s copies, but are running short on orbs, now have the capability to upgrade units to the next level without expending exchange attempts in the Laboratory
  • Bonus orbs cannot be received for a unit that is the guest star of the week.
 
Regular events improved
The Supremacy Tournament and the Shard Hunting:
  • These now have the feature of quickly fine-tuning the deck. The Tournament’s decks now take the present day’s modifiers into account
  • During the active battle phase of the Supremacy Tournament, you can now place your bets on the event’s participants and watch their battles, similar to how it is in the Rhandum League
Encountering a powerful opponent:
  • If you are at the 4th~20th places in the Supremacy Tournament’s leaderboard, and you encounter a player who is at the same range, both of you can block two of the opponent’s decks instead of one. If your opponent is at the 1st to 3rd place, you will also be able to select a passive in-combat modifier that will make you stronger, or weaken the opponent
  • If you are at a place below the 20th, and you encounter a player who is in the 4th~20th place, you will also be able to block 2 of their decks and pick a modifier. If your opponent is someone from the 1st~3rd places, TWO additional modifiers will be available to you
  • You can now similarly select a modifier for the Shard Hunting. The rules for banning enemy decks do not apply to this event since they are implemented differently − via the Pro mode that rewards participation in this event with the greater number of points
 
We’ve changed the amount of crit received for leveling up units
  • The amount became greater at levels 6, 7 and 8
  • The amount became lesser at levels 11, 14 and 15
The total amount of crit for fully upgraded unit remains unchanged!
 
Death Wave 
  • Spells and artifacts can now be used in the event
