The latest update for Nikoderiko: The Magical World is now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Update 1.0.3 adds gameplay changes, visual and audio improvements, level and UI fixes, and more.
GAMEPLAY CHANGES
- Boss (Baron Grimbald): Fixed hitbox overlap in the third phase and reworked abilities.
- Mounts: Fixed clipping and response issues in boss fights, and adjusted settings after character death in certain phases.
- Boss (Chef): Added knockback effect on ground pound attacks, and reduced recovery duration to improve responsiveness.
- 3D Segments: Disabled rage animations for Cobrings and adjusted camera rotation when entering 3D.
VISUAL IMPROVEMENTS
- Riptor’s Rage (Level): Adjusted visuals for ice to synchronize with water physics.
- Crusher (Boss): Added explosions to stalactites in the second phase.
- Polished Lighting (Levels): Lighting improvements have been applied to multiple levels for enhanced clarity.
AUDIO IMPROVEMENTS
- FMOD: Updated prioritization of player sounds, re-enabled UI vibration, and re-tuned sounds for better synchronization.
- Ambient & Environmental: Fixed sound for Crusher’s whoosh effect in cutscenes, and adjusted ambient stutter on teleport in Tricky Caves.
LEVEL FIXES
- Mount Mayhem: Addressed camera proximity and environmental collision issues near checkpoints and platforms.
- Dragon Chase: Fixed an issue with a non-co-op player not receiving a mount after death on a jetpack.
- Flicker Factory: Fixed player occasionally not mounting cannon with a mount in 3D segments.
- Multiple Levels: Numerous bug fixes including corrected overlaps, optimized spawn points, and adjusted environmental collisions across levels Lava Temple, Thorns Valley, Under Pressure, Rope Ride Grotto, Riptor’s Rage, Flicker Factory, and Shadow Fish Lagoon.
USER INTERFACE (UI) CHANGES
- Settings: Resolved issues with exiting quick settings that caused UI and localization issues.
- Map & HUD: Updated HUD to correctly display active language, added swipe-off animations for collectibles, and re-arranged hotkeys in the Shop.
- Bosses: Corrected boss names appearing instead of level names on screens.
BUG FIXES & OPTIMIZATIONS
- Mounts: Added checks to prevent controls from freezing when entering a bonus level.
- Destruction FX: Improved visual feedback and added new visual effects for destructible objects.
- Achievements: Resolved bugs related to the “The Baron Has Fallen, Long Live the Hero!” and “Ascetic” achievements.
- Controller Disconnect: Resolved issues if a controller disconnects in co-op to prevent input blocking.
- End Level Screen: Resolved appearance of certain UI elements and animations post-end level screens, especially in levels with bosses.
